About VerifiedAdvisors.ca

Canada's national directory of independently verified financial professionals.

VerifiedAdvisors.ca is building the trust infrastructure that Canadian consumers have never had — a single, national platform where every listed professional has been independently verified against their provincial regulatory authority. Not self-reported. Not claimed. Verified.

Mortgage brokers. Insurance advisors. Financial planners. Accountants. Lawyers. Each profession carries its own credentials, its own regulatory body, and its own responsibility to the people it serves. When they come together in one verified directory, something powerful happens — consumers gain access to a community of professionals they can actually trust, and professionals gain access to a network of peers they can confidently refer to.

Our goal is simple and uncompromising: to become Canada's leading verification platform for individual financial professionals.

So that when a consumer finds someone on VerifiedAdvisors.ca, they know we've done the work. And so that the corporations, brokerages, and institutions that work alongside these professionals know that each individual has been independently verified — not just their firm, not just their brand, but them personally.

This matters more today than ever before. In an era of AI deepfakes, synthetic identities, and digital impersonation, the question "is this actually the person I think it is?" is no longer hypothetical. It's a real risk that consumers and institutions face every day. VerifiedAdvisors.ca exists to answer that question with certainty — every profile, every credential, every license, independently confirmed.

We Started With Mortgages Because That's Where Trust Matters Most

Buying a home is the biggest financial decision most Canadians will ever make. More money on the line, more complexity, more vulnerability than almost any other professional relationship in a person's life. When someone hands over their financial future to a mortgage broker, they deserve to know that person is actually licensed, currently in good standing, and who they say they are.

That's where we started. Not because mortgages were easy — but because the stakes were too high to start anywhere else.

The Problem We Saw

Most online directories will list anyone who claims to be a financial professional. No verification. No license check. No cross-reference against the regulatory authorities that exist precisely to protect you.

Consumers were left guessing. Legitimate, licensed professionals were buried next to people with no credentials at all. And the regulatory databases that could answer the question — FSRA in Ontario, BCFSA in BC, RECA in Alberta — were accurate but inaccessible to the average person searching online.

We built VerifiedAdvisors.ca to fix that. Every profile on our platform is independently cross-referenced against provincial regulatory authorities. Not self-reported. Not claimed. Verified.

Where We're Going

The directory is just the beginning.

Our vision is a verified professional community — a network where mortgage brokers, insurance advisors, financial planners, accountants, and lawyers across Canada know each other, trust each other, and refer to each other with confidence.

When a mortgage broker in Vancouver needs to refer a client to a financial planner in Calgary, they shouldn't have to guess. When an insurance broker in Toronto sends a client to a mortgage professional in Halifax, that referral should carry weight — because both professionals are verified, visible, and accountable. When a lawyer closing a real estate transaction needs a trusted mortgage broker, or an accountant needs to refer a client for financial planning, that connection happens inside a community where credentials are confirmed and reputations are real.

That's the community we're building. A place where:

Verified professionals gain the visibility they've earned
Cross-market referrals flow to people who deserve them
Consumers benefit from a network of professionals who vouch for each other
Mortgage brokers, insurance advisors, financial planners, accountants, and lawyers operate as a connected, trusted ecosystem
Being part of the community signals something real — not just a listing, but a standard

As the community grows, so does the value for everyone in it. More verified professionals means more consumer trust. More consumer trust means more leads. More leads means more professionals who want to be part of it. The network gets stronger with every claim.

Why Mortgage Brokers First

Mortgages are where Canadians are most financially exposed and most in need of a professional they can genuinely trust. It's also one of the most regulated financial professions in the country — which means the verification infrastructure already exists. We just made it accessible.

As we grow, we'll expand to every licensed financial profession in Canada. Insurance brokers. Financial planners. Accountants. Lawyers. But we'll never compromise the standard. Every professional on this platform will be independently verified — or they won't be here.

"The question 'is this person actually licensed?' should never be hard to answer. We made it easy."

Frequently Asked Questions

How does VerifiedAdvisors verify professionals?

Every professional on VerifiedAdvisors has been verified against their provincial regulatory authority's official database. We confirm their active license status, regulatory oversight, and professional standing before listing them on our platform.

Why don't all profiles show a license number?

Some provinces (like Ontario's FSRA) publicly provide license numbers, while others (like Alberta's RECA and BC's BCFSA) verify professionals but do not disclose individual license numbers publicly. All professionals on VerifiedAdvisors have been confirmed as actively licensed. We display the regulatory body, license status, and expiry date for full transparency.

How often is license information updated?

We monitor license renewals and send professionals reminders 90, 60, 30, and 7 days before their license expires. If a license lapses, the profile is immediately flagged until renewal is confirmed.

What's the difference between Free and Premium listings?

Free Standard listings include basic profile information and license verification. Premium listings ($99/month) include enhanced visibility, priority placement in search results, lead alerts, and an analytics dashboard.

How do I claim my profile?

If you're a licensed mortgage broker and see your name in our directory, visit the Get Verified page. Claiming is free and takes 2 minutes. You can upgrade to Premium anytime.

Is my information accurate?

We verify all information against provincial regulatory databases. If you notice any errors in your profile, contact us and we'll update it within 24 hours.
